My work focuses on vulnerable populations, both in the US and in sub-Saharan Africa. Currently I am the director of a project called Global Action in Nursing (GAIN) to promote nursing leadership and clinical skill development in Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, and Sierra Leone. Clinical content of the GAIN project is led by in-country partners and may include maternal neonatal health, cancer risk, and other NCDs. I am also Affiliate Faculty with the Bixby Center for Global Reproductive Health and the Global Cancer Program and Honorary Faculty at the Malawi University for Science and Technology.
