We serve as an innovative hub for research, training, clinical care, and advocacy, bringing together a broad variety of disciplines to help improve reproductive health globally. Our members work in medicine, nursing, epidemiology, demography, sociology, anthropology, public health, and health services to address the complex and varied components of reproductive health.
Our investigators look at a range of issues that impact people’s autonomy and access to equitable care worldwide. Our members have large bodies of work in our core areas:
- Abortion. The Bixby Center is one of the few institutions to unflinchingly address abortion, investigating multidimensional aspects of abortion services and care in the US and globally.
- Contraceptive research and services. We’re at the forefront of clinical and social science research to improve contraceptive options and services around the world.
- HIV and sexually transmitted infections. We’re leading groundbreaking research and transforming HIV/AIDS and STI prevention, treatment and care worldwide.
- Pregnancy and childbirth. We work to improve health and wellbeing and ensure that pregnant and birthing people have the equitable, supportive care they deserve.
