Abortion care should be guided by evidence, not politics. Limits on abortion care tie the hands of providers and interfere with people’s ability to make decisions about their own bodies and futures.
Once someone decides to have an abortion, they should be able to get one as soon as possible and as late as necessary. The standard set in Roe v. Wade left too many people behind, with people facing long travel distances, delays, or denial of the care they needed. The end of the constitutional right to abortion made the stakes abundantly clear: we need something bolder and better that ensures everyone can get the care they need and providers can practice without political interference.
