Muna Bashir

Muna Bashir, MA-MCHS, is a PhD student at the UCSF Institute for Global Health Sciences. She received her MA in Maternal-Child Health Systems from Bastyr University and her BS in Biology from the University of Texas at Dallas. Muna has helped design and implement evidence-based tools, programs, and services at large birthing facilities to improve patient-provider communication, reduce surgical birth rates, and boost quality of care. Her niche lies in supporting socially vulnerable groups in the United States overcome past birth trauma and achieve positive birth experiences. Muna is currently involved with various research projects at UCSF to improve maternal and child health outcomes, both locally and globally.
