Dr. Cohan provides preconception, prenatal and gynecologic care for HIV-infected women and HIV-affected couples. Dr. Cohan is also a member of the Department of Health and Human Services Panel on Antiretroviral Guidelines for Adults and Adolescents. Her research interests include prenatal HIV testing strategies, the use of combined antiretroviral therapy during pregnancy and lactation in resource-limited settings, and prevention of placental malaria among HIV-infected pregnant women.
