Abortion Onscreen database.

A project of ANSIRH’s Abortion Onscreen program, this online database aims to include all American film and television depictions in which a character obtained an abortion (or disclosed that they had had one in the past). The database can be searched using a variety of criteria and is frequently updated to include new plotlines.

 

Early abortion training workbook, 5th edition. 2016.

This workbook helps clinicians: identify key elements of informed consent and counseling; recognize psychosocial issues for women seeking abortion; understand the basic steps involved with first-trimester aspiration and medical abortion; and identify common complications of first-trimester abortion care.

 

Supreme Court affirms that abortion restrictions put women's health, safety and well-being at risk. 2016.

This fact sheet outlines the evidence behind a significant 2016 Supreme Court decision on abortion access. It details how restrictions imposed in some states are not based on medical evidence and will do nothing to improve women’s health and safety. These requirements put women at risk by standing in the way of safe reproductive care.

Reproductive Health in Nursing website centralizes reproductive health care advocacy, research and training information for nurses, including:

  • Explained. This collection of short videos and infographics provides a more accessible overview of the evidence behind key abortion policy topics, including waiting periods, TRAP laws and abortion safety.
  • Managing early pregnancy loss. The curriculum includes didactic narratives, provider testimonials, and live video and animation demonstrating a step-by-step method for surgical early pregnancy loss management. This version of the course is free for anyone to take.
