| Job Summary | The Bixby Center for Global Reproductive Health seeks a Project Coordinator for a major ($1.85 million/3year) project to study and improve the efficacy of information and training efforts to promote acceptance and use of long acting reversible contraception (LARC) and to implement these information and training procedures for potential providers and acceptors in the US; the Project Coordinator will be responsible for day-to-day project implementation and coordination under the direction of study investigators; specific responsibilities include: coordinate and implement research on providers’ knowledge, attitudes and practices relating to long-acting reversible contraceptives (IUDs and implants); synthesize lessons learned from previous LARC promotion projects; support clinical trials of post-abortion contraception; assess training options; prepare information and training materials; assist in the design and pilot test of provider interventions; and develop and coordinate education and training of providers; will work within a multi-disciplinary research team, and will also contribute to other research projects approximately one day a week; and perform other duties as assigned. |
| Required Qualifications | BA/BS with a major in biology, public health, medicine or a related field, and two years of experience in administrative analysis or operations research; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; two years of research and/or administrative experience in the reproductive health field; strong verbal and written communications skills; excellent organizational, interpersonal and writing skills; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to prioritize tasks; ability to work collaboratively and independently; ability to work in front of a computer monitor for long periods of time; experience analyzing STATA, SAS, or SPSS information; working knowledge of Microsoft Office with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, PubMed and Internet. |
| Preferred Qualifications | Master’s Degree or higher in biology, public health, medicine or related field; demonstrated skills in reproductive health research and project management; demonstrated initiative and competence with respect to external outreach; experience with health provider education and training; experience with the UCSF policies and procedures and research administration. |
